Environmental Conservation

Environmental Conservation

Our environmental project is dedicated to protecting vulnerable areas and species in the Agnosy region of southeastern Madagascar – before they are lost forever. Our team of conservationists and short-term volunteers conduct important research to help protect a wide range of endangered species

What is Environmental Conservation

We also focus on engaging with local community, as they are the people who know the local environment and conservation priorities best. SEED Madagascar brings people together to discuss these important issues, and then provides the support needed so that these lands and resources can thrive for generations to come.

Why Environmental Conservation is so important?

Environmental conservation is the process of protecting nature from Environmental degradation caused by human activities, such as unsustainable agriculture, deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels.

The effects of this process include air pollution, plastic pollution, and environmental degradation and, of course, climate change. Scientists have warned that if we don’t do that soon, it will lead to an increase in natural disasters, rising sea levels and extreme weather, leading to ecosystem collapse, extinction of wildlife, food shortages and human trafficking. . . . of the world.

As a traveler community, we value nature and want to experience it in a responsible, safe and meaningful way. At IVHQ, our local operations are 100% carbon neutral and we have developed a climate action plan with the goal of making all aircraft carbon neutral by 2025.

When you participate in one of our environmental stewardship programs, you will see firsthand how the collective efforts of individuals can hold the key to meaningful change around the world. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to protect our planet and make a difference!

Forest Conservation

The Nusi Kumba Forest is home to many of Madagascar’s rarest animal species. Most are only found in this region. Unfortunately, many of these invasive species are threatened by habitat loss due to logging and resource expansion.

Volunteers in our conservation projects collect information on lemurs, mammals and birds, which is used to study changes in forest activity, population density, monitor habitat health and identify environmental risks. It is an important part of protecting the endangered Zambrano Forest and the species that inhabit it.

Waste Management

Especially in developing countries and overcrowded areas, a large amount of waste is scattered on the streets and on the streets every day. Improper waste handling can lead to various serious diseases and soil contamination.

Conserve by Using Less Eco-friendly Energy and by Alternative Energy Sources

Embracing and developing alternative energy sources would be a breath of fresh air for Mother Earth. If families implement the concept of sustainable living by spending less and saving more, the benefits will be enormous.

Solar energy and wind energy are renewable energy options that are widely available to us. But most of our energy use comes from burning non-renewable fossil fuels to power our cars, the electricity we use in our homes, and more.

While we don’t have complete control over how we get energy, there is always the opportunity to live in ways that cannot be increased with less energy.

Importance of Environmental Conservation

Importance of agriculture

Agriculture depends on the environment and we also depend on agriculture. A country’s wealth can be measured by its ability to feed its people, although not all countries can produce agricultural products. Environmental protection related to agriculture can prevent landslides, floods and soil erosion and help citizens obtain food. Unsustainable farming techniques affect the natural environment and make farming impossible.

Importance of Fishing

Various bodies of water like seas, lakes, oceans, etc. are another source of valuable substances like food. Communities around the world depend on fish products and related services. Therefore, marine conservation is important for human livelihoods, human activities and the protection of marine biodiversity. It saves many animals from extinction and eats land animals that depend on water. Other major problems in the oceans are overfishing and pollution.

Importance to the Climate

Human activity has a direct impact on the climate and thus affects all living things. Global warming is causing droughts, floods, sea level rise and extreme weather events, as well as climate-destroying greenhouse gas emissions.

Climate change is the result of human activity and is associated with extreme weather, extreme weather and changes in normal weather patterns. To undo these extreme impacts and make the world a better place, environmental conservation needs to be done. For example, reforestation makes it easier to plant by making it rain.

Excellent Water Quality

Due to safety measures, the water is safe for everyone. It also has social, environmental and economic benefits. From an economic perspective, environmental protection increases tourism, provides tourism, reduces health care costs and boosts the tourism industry.

From a social perspective, a safe environment reduces the spread of waterborne diseases, improves the quality of incoming water, facilitates the use of surface water, facilitates recreation, and improves livelihoods. Protecting ecosystems and ecosystems protect a variety of water-dependent plants and animals and maintain the diverse natural functions of aquatic ecosystems.

It leads to Healthy Air Quality

Nevertheless, a sustainable environment ensures air quality, which also has social, economic and environmental benefits. Economically, it increases tourism, lowers health care costs, and damages buildings and sidewalks.

In short, it significantly reduces circulatory and pulmonary morbidity and improves residents’ quality of life. From an environmental perspective, it maintains water quality and protects aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity.

Preserves Biodiversity

A protected environment preserves biological diversity while providing the above-mentioned benefits. It protects aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, ensures the flow of energy through ecosystems, provides natural services, protects food webs and promotes nature tourism.

Protects Wildlife

Environmental protection protects wildlife and improves the environment. Keeping ecosystems alive and functioning can prevent the extinction of certain species. When an environment is destroyed, some species are removed from their habitats and cannot live anywhere else. Human-animal conflict can occur, which can be disastrous for both species.

Protection of Earth

Environmental protection should protect and protect the environment from certain threats, such as climate change. We want to reduce the damage we do to the planet by contributing to destruction. If we don’t protect nature, nature will take extreme weather, drought, heavy rainfall and other harsh measures that negatively affect our health, food and home. We must do everything humanly possible to protect the environment.

It Protects Human Health

Environmental conservation can lead to the preservation and improvement of human life and health. Environmental degradation can lead to new diseases and decimate species that can support drug development. Wildlife habitats are critical because they prevent the spread of emerging infectious diseases from animals to humans.

For example, the Ebola epidemic is a zoonotic disease that has spread to humans and is believed to be transmitted by ticks. The same can be said for COVID-19, which will kill more than 1.18 million people in 2020 alone. In short, we cannot be healthy in an unhealthy environment. We need to protect the environment for our health and future.

Methods of Environmental Conservation

Forest Conservation

Agriculture and forestry help protect forests, which are traps that absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide that are not released into the atmosphere. It should be our mission to plant and protect more trees on public and private lands. In addition, forest management standards must be strengthened so that we can play an active role in protecting the environment.

Soil Conservation

Soil conservation helps control erosion and improves land for agricultural purposes. We need to plant more trees to protect the weeds and cover the ground to prevent runoff. It is important to reduce the use of chemicals, fertilizers and agricultural land on abandoned land.

 Managing Waste

Solid waste is generated in markets, industries, households, residential areas and many other places. So we need to help deal with our waste and keep the environment healthy. Municipalities must implement solid waste management programs, identify municipal landfills and collect waste regularly. We also need to teach ourselves how to deal with waste without throwing all the waste away.

Recycling

We have to learn to reuse everything as long as possible. Glass, paper, plastic and even metal can be recycled and should not be thrown away after first use. Almost 90% of plastic bottles do not fall into the recycling category, which is a shame. It is not biodegradable and about 500 billion of them are used every year. Recycling these bottles, boxes, bags and other items helps protect the environment

 Reducing our Water Consumption

Fresh, clear and clean water is thick and not easy to cross. That is why it is important to save a lot of water and avoid water pollution; otherwise it will deteriorate in the coming years. Reduce the number of times you wash and shower, use only detergents, do not dispose of waste in clean water and reuse clean water.

Control Pollution

We should always maintain our cars and leave them at home as often as possible as they are a major source of air pollution. Rechargeable batteries help the environment because they are not thrown away when empty. Compost prevents rust, not only protects the environment, but is a reliable source of natural fuel. Avoid environmentally harmful chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and pesticides. Pollution must be controlled to protect the environment.

Create Public Awareness

Discover the results of our activities through various available channels such as social media, conferences and regular announcements. Also discuss environmental protection with friends and family so that everyone knows about environmental protection, how to protect the environment and the consequences of not paying attention to the environment.
